A little more about sugar and why not to eat it

I just happened across this outstanding presentation by Dr. Robert H Lustig, MD, Professor of Pediatrics at the UCSF.  It outlines the devastating impact of sugar and high-fructose corn syrup consumption on our metabolism and overall health – and the conspiracy that has been perpetuated  to promote these substances  in our diet at our expense and the food executives profit. As Lustig points out, obesity is not the result of laziness or overeating – but the product of  a nation critically misinformed on health. If you doubt that, just wander down the cereal isle at the grocery store, and ponder how it might be that lucky charms, cocoa puffs and trix – all highly processed foods containing ample refined carbohydrates and HFCS – have been given the seal of approval by the American Heart Association as being part of a “heart healthy diet” – but butter and eggs (whole foods mind you) are shunned as being villainous culprits.  This video is well worth an hour of your time – it provides the knowledge and information that will empower you to break free of mis-information and marketing scams –  and make the best choices for yourself.
