February’s Blog Party Announcement
by Danielle Charles
Before Spring sets in with its beckoning call of warm weather and flowers, it’s nice to take advantage of our last true month of winter by catching up on our studies. With all it’s cold and blustery weather, February just seems the perfect month to put the feet up by the fire with a stack of herb books to explore and a hot cup of tea. So, instead of writing about herbs this month, I thought it only proper that we write about herb books!
The theme of February’s UK Herbarium blog party, then, is “Gems from the Herbal Library” – an opportunity to share your most beloved herb books with one another. Tell us about what books you just can’t live without; the ones you could read cover to cover; those you take into the field with you; the ones with all your favorite recipes or those that you always go to first when you need information. In short, please share with us your favorite and most trusted books, and why you love them so!
Please post on your blog before February 20th, and then send me a link to your post at teacupandco (at) gmail (dot) com so I can share them all here on the evening of the 20th. If you don’t have a blog, you can still participate by sending me a word document, and I’ll post it on my blog as a guest post.
And I must admit that I am a book addict, so I might have a few ulterior motives for this theme 🙂
I look forward to reading your posts!
XOXO Danielle
Danielle, I’m starting to think we have some kind of psychic connection!! I have just this moment been posting about books! Don’t worry I’ll come up with something else for the blog party though. How funny.

Oh no! That is really too funny, and kind of crazy also!! I think you must be right about the psychic connection! Maybe we need to check in with each other when we get an idea to write about? 🙂 Anyhow, you are more than welcome to use that post for the blog party, as it seems just perfect for it!
XOXO D
love the theme, Lucinda! xxx
i mean, I love the theme Danielle! lol I was reading both of your responses and got names mixed up;-)
I’m glad you like it! I think we all must be getting visits from the same herb muse – since both Lucinda and Brigitte were writing about books just as I came up with the theme idea 🙂 It will be a fun blog party, I think (especially for bookaholics like myself 🙂 )
Snowy hugs from Vermont,

[…] What a great theme for all herb book lovers! Please join in the fun and send Danielle the link to your post by February 20th For more information click here. […]
Not just you lot! I started a post on having gone over 500 books in my library this week and intended to post it when I’d finished it! We were looking at new book shelves today as my collection is fast out growing the space I have. As for Gems, how long can a post be? I think mine will be long, will have to try and pick just 5 or so… what a dilemma lol! Really looking forward to this 🙂
D x
My goodness Debs, would I love to come and explore your library! I’m definitely a book addict, but I’ve a ways to go before I hit 500 🙂 I think 5 is a good number to shoot for. I know I’ll have lots of trouble limiting it to that as I also love all my books so! But alas, there is only so much time 🙂 So funny that we all have books on the brain – it must be the thing to do as an herbalist in February!
XOXO D
I look forward to learning about new books:) I am a bookaholic also! lol big snowy hugs from Illinois xx
This is exciting. Herb book nerds unite! I can’t wait to hear about everyone’s favs, because I can never get enough.
[…] Finally, incase you haven’t spotted the announcements elsewhere, Danielle will be hosting the February Blog Party on a topic which is close to all our hearts, ‘Gems from the Herbal Library’. All of us herby bloggers share a love of words as well as a love of nature so this promises to be a great topic and I’m sure we’ll all discover a new treasure to add to our collections. Read all about it in her post here. […]

Wonderful! Thanks Lus, I can’t wait to read it 🙂
Sweet 🙂 I’m looking forward to seeing what others are reading or treasuring.
This blog party has been the cause a rather substantial dent in my bank account. And my beautiful husband had already built me a gigantic bookshelf which is overstuffed and books are in stacks on the floor. Great posts all…So excited…and now I begin stalking the ups guy. Sometimes does your head spin and tingle with all the exciting information out there? Maybe it’s just a gemini rising thing.(Especially looking forward to Marie Tilgner’s book.)
My head does spin and tingle sometimes – and I am a gemini so maybe that’s why 🙂 So many books, so little time! Hope you have fun with all your new gems 🙂
