July blog party announcement: Herbal thirst quenchers for the Dog Days
by Danielle Charles
Summer is in full swing here in the Northern Hemisphere, and we are entering that notorious time of year known as the “Dog Days of summer” – the period between July and August when the sun’s power peaks and the days are at their hottest and often most humid to boot! On those truly scorching days, there is nothing like lounging under the shade of a big tree sipping something cool and refreshing. So this month, I’ve chosen “Herbal Thirst Quenchers” as the UK Herbarium blog party topic to celebrate the Dog Days by sharing recipes for our favorite summer herbal beverages to cool down and bear the heat. From electrolyte packed nourishing herbal brews to floral infused lemonades, herb-waters or even intoxicating herbal cocktails, please share your favorite herbal recipes with us for quenching your thirst herbally on those hot days.
If you’d like to take part, simply email a link to your post to teacupbotanicals (at) gmail (dot) com by July 20th. If you don’t have a blog of your own but would like to participate, then email me your post in .doc format and I’ll post it on The Teacup Chronicles as a guest post. The posts will all be shared here on July 21st.
Happy dog days and stay cool!
